Current BLS certification.
Minimum Work ExperienceMinimum one year prior experience in inpatient medical surgical or hospital acute care setting preferred.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSEssential Functions Provides direct and individualized nursing care to an assigned group of patients based on the application of scientific principles, under the supervision of a registered professional nurse.
Assists in preoperative, postoperative, and relevant health teaching for patient and family.
Shares responsibility for the planning, implementation, and evaluation of nursing care plans and nursing care.
Participates in team conferences, sharing knowledge, information, and idea among team members.
Prepares, administers, and records medications in accordance with the policy regarding the administration of medications by a licensed practical nurse.
Performs more complex nursing activities as competence increases.
Participates in emergency care.
Communicates frequently with the team leader regarding patients' physical and mental conditions.
Records information consisely, accurately, and completely.
Identifies and utilizes appropriate channels of communication.
Constructively participates in appropriate committees within the nursing department and/or the hospital.

Participates in 75% of staff meetings as evidenced by attendance records.
Completes competency assignments as evidenced by inservice record.
Maintains current status in CPR.
